The man of my dreams...

Way down in the deep places of my heart I really wish I could have met Gregory Peck. You know that game that everyone plays, "Who would you invite to your dinner party, alive or dead?", Gregory would definitely score an invite. "To Kill A MOckingbird" was one of my favorite books growing up ( lets face it, nothing beats my Harry Potter obsession, but TKAM and "The Outsiders" were both read more than once). When I was old enough to really understand what the book was telling me, I just fell in love with the concept. I saw the movie when I was about 15, and I also fell in love.. with Gregory Peck. If you have not seen the movie, then stop what you are doing and go watch it now. Make sure to pay special attention to the scene in the court room and notice how it is all done in one take. He is like a robot, but a robot with special human talents. A robot with chiseled features and soft eyes. All I wanted to do was curl up in his lap and have him read me a story. His voice is like running your hands through silk handkerchiefs. He just seems to purr when he talks. If I had it my way all men would wear vest suits and pocket watches and say things like "I highly suggest". During "Roman Holiday" I felt like he was a mixture of that high school teacher you wished would love you back, and the the handsome next door neighbor that washed his car without a shirt. In short, Gregory Peck was the man of my dreams, before I even had dreams. I wish I could go back in time, and ask him to dinner. I would ask him if he could please pick his favorite passage from a Walt Whitman collection and we could just curl up together in front of a flame licking fire and just listen to the sound of his voice. Thank You Gregory Peck for setting my standards so high.
