I have often thought that the world would be a much happier and joyful place if we lived in a giant musical. Not everyone would share this view, I know. I do believe that people who say they don't like musicals are putting up a front. Secretly they go home and watch "The Sound of Music" by themselves. Maybe I am just a sucker for smiling faces and sweet dance moves, but I will watch anything with people singing and dancing. Call me a nerd, call me overwhelming, call me crazy, but I know if the "musical haters" out there just tried it, they would be smiling in spite of themselves. Life is just better through song. Whenever I feel a little down I just pop in one of the old faithfuls and sing along ( because obviously I know all the words). Not only do I love glitter, but I think that patterns should be mixed, hats should be worn, and nothing is complete without sequins. Add a ballad and a love triangle and you have got yourself a damn good musical. I think I am very much alone in my musical dream world, but maybe one day I will be walking down the street feeling particularly happy, and the flower vendor will tip his hat, the lady walking the poodle will step into stride with me, the mailman will throw his cart aside and cantor into line, and soon we will be dancing all together hitting the high notes in perfect unison. Tell me that didn't just make you smile. :)
