A little paint goes a long way...

I am convinced the Benny and Joon is one of my favorite movies. If you have not seen this movie, then put it on your top picks list because it's a heart warmer. Johnny Depp wears suspenders and a top hat, Mary Stewart Masterson is endearing and loveable, and William H. Macy has a 5 second role. Good Stuff!

First of all, this puppy is adorable. Second, I posted this picture so everyone can be reminded of much I really really miss animals in my life here in Italy. Thirdly.. I just wanted to practice posting a picture and this seemed cute enough

Italian Fun

Last night I went out with some friends. It was a normal Saturday night. We went to dinner, then went to a few bars, alcohol was involved. We were dancing and singing at this one club downtown, when the normal man attention began to get a little intense. thankfully for me I was born with curly brown hair. My companions are not so lucky. Straight blonde hair here is like the ultimate attention getter. My friends were trying to steer clear of the creeps, but no sooner had we moved to another area, a giant greasy hand comes out of nowhere and starts petting Gwyneth. Petting, like a dog. We had to avoid it the rest of the night, i think they should wear wigs when we go out.

Harry Potter....

When my life seems to be unfolding in front of my face, and all I want to do is just curl up in bed and shut out the world, my old friend comes and pulls me out of it. I know this sounds ridiculous and very weird, but Harry Potter makes me feel happy. I just pull out one of my spine worn books ( or in this case, laptop copies) and read a few chapters. I started reading them when I was eleven, and I truly think it is my one obsession. I wish I could be obsessed with something cooler, something that is unique. But lets face it, Harry Potter is probably the most well known name aside from Jesus these days. He is a true hero, and I only wish he could come to my dinner parties and just humbly sit in the corner. Whenever I feel alone, I just pick up a book and listen to my friend. Thanks Harry, I owe you one

Artists Block

I have been in a surly mood for a few days now. The mood is 100% because of my inability to come up with a decent theme for my series of work this semester. After a few different ideas, sketches, and small paintings, I gave up for awhile. I cannot explain the wonderful relief I feel for having another artist in the house with me. Emily, if you read this, know how thankful I am for you! She has given me some direction, and I am exactly excited to get started now. So are you ready for it? Here comes my theme: SPECIMENS. The four paintings will consist of 4 different specimens of insects on an extremely large scale. More images and angst to come!!

Good Morning Mexican

Today, instead of doing the Bozetti paintings for my Italian independent study class I have due on Tuesday, I am attempting to make tortillas. The recipe calls for some elbow grease, but I am craving some Mexican spices so badly, I don't care. After I go to the store I am going to make Mexican rice, black beans, peppers and onions, and tortillas. I think I will buy some Pringles as well. God bless the USA.

Welcome Readers....

After reading my old blogspot for about an hour (and cracking up because I am hilarious after all) I decided that I need to create another one. Far from convinced that anyone will read my blog, keep track of my movements, or have interest in future postings, I am writing it for my own peace of mind and thought process. For those of you whose eyes wander here and do not know me, here is some information that you will need to know before reading any further:

1) I have become increasingly obsessed with Harry Potter over the years ( it all started when I was 11, and it will continue till I am 111)
2) People tell me I channel the 80's ( or at least one person tells me ;) )
3) David Bowie is the reason I love music
4) Joss Whedon is the God of all things Sci Fi and Fabulous ( and therefore IF i ever bear children I shall name my first child after him)
5) I am currently living in Florence Italy ( and missing California right now)
